Everyday Makeup Products

Image
Hey guys! I'm back with another health and beauty article that I'm so excited to share with you. Without further ado, here are my favorite everyday makeup products. By "favorite" I mean these are the ones that I would reach for when doing my make up for the office or for church. On a regular day, when I'm feeling lazy (which is 4/5 days in the week) I would normally reach for just the concealer, mascara, and lipstick. But when I feel extra sipag or if I have a meeting to attend to, these are the things that go on my face. 1. Foundation - I have 2 go-to foundations depending on what finish I want to achieve. If I want a hulas-proof or matte finish, I usually go for the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte foundation in 105 Natural Beige. I swear, this lives up to its hype! My fresh is matte all day long and it does not feel heavy on the skin. If I'm after a soft, dewy finish, I go for the L'Oreal Paris Le Teint True Match Super Blendable Liquid Founda...

One-of-a-Kind Bridal Shower!

Image
On May 5, 2018, I attended the bridal shower of one of my close friends. It was organized by her MOH and I was really excited about this because it was a different kind of bridal shower. Unlike the usual bachelorette parties wherein you go to the bar and have drinks (and strippers), this one was something that the bride will truly remember and learn something from. Bridal Party With the bride-to-be (left), Gena (my friend since college), and me Our bridal shower was...a cooking lesson! Yes! This was so unique and so useful to future wives (and for people like me who have minimal knowledge in cooking). For our lesson we were taught to make 3 dishes: Pan Roasted Chicken, Cheesy Risotto (my favorite!), and Banana Crepe. Banana Crepe Filling Cheesy Risotto It was a great experience as I got to bond and talk to the bridal party. And most of all, I came home learning 3 new dishes that I can cook anytime for my family. They also give you a copy of the recipes so you ha...

V-Day!

Image
Valentine's is usually an ordinary day for me. Sure, you can see hearts and flowers everywhere, and couples being all sweet and lovey-dovey. But for me, it's just like any other regular day. Mi Amor and I decided not to spend the day on the 14th, as there are a LOT of people in restaurants, basically everywhere (also it was Ash Wednesday and he was coding :P) So we met on the 13th and he surprised me with a huge box of chocolates (I cri). This was surprise #1. Yes - may surprise #2!  The only photo I took because I was so "kilig"!  We met on the 15th again to celebrate Valentine's Day and to watch Black Panther (because Marvel yo!) As I entered the car, he surprised me again with this gorgeous bouquet of Stargazers (my favourite flower). This time I really cried. I can't stop saying 'thank you' and 'I love you' to this wonderful man. Up until the end of the day, I was still kinikilig. It's my 3rd time only to received a bouquet of fl...

Thank you, 2017!

Happy New Year! I can't believe it's already 2018! It seems like only yesterday, we were just starting on 2017 and look at where we are now! 2017 has been a rollercoaster ride for me. I've had so many trials, obstacles, and challenges this year that I almost felt like I wanted to give up! But then, God wouldn't give us challenges we can't face, and I have proven this by experience. 2017 has brought me different challenges in life (and at work). Not only was I able to surpass these challenges, but they have also taught be valuable lessons in life. Lessons that no one can teach me. Lessons that are learned through experience. And for that, I am thankful. 2017 also brought me great and wonderful things (and people). It was a year of moving forward, of learning, of change, and of growing up. I was able to learn to be grateful for what I have, always thankful to God for all the blessings, and I was able to learn that you can never please everyone. I was ...

Mystery Manila: Virtual Voyage

Image
When my family and I went to Century City Mall in Kalayaan Avenue, Makati, we made sure to try the famous Mystery Manila.  Mystery Manila is a real life escape room game that can be played between 2-6 players. The team has one hour to find out how to escape the room by solving puzzles in 1 hour. The game requires patience, teamwork, and problem solving skills. There are different room themes that you can choose from: Sinister Sensorium, Pym Particle, Debby's Doll, Crime of the Century, Virtual Voyage, and Mutant's Mission. Rooms vary per branch.  Booking can be done online to ensure that you get the room you prefer, or you can do walk-in (which does not guarantee room availability). We chose to walk-in, and the earliest room available was Virtual Voyage. We started at around 4pm, we had our bags stored and had a short orientation from our gamekeeper, and off we began! When we entered the room we had no idea what to do. It was so hard to find out how to solve the p...

Kris Finds: Refillable Atomizer

Image
Ever find it hard to bring your favourite bottle of perfume when travelling overseas? All airlines have a protocol of carrying only 10mL of liquids per bottle for carry on luggage. Unless you have a check-in luggage, then you can bring in your bottle of perfume above 10mL. I have 2 favorite perfumes and none of them are quite easy to bring as a carry on. My go to everyday perfume which is the Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton, and my special occasion perfume which is the Victoria's Secret Tease. Thanks to a friend, I discovered this little device that's called the Refillable Atomizer. It may sound like your regular refillable atomizer but it definitely looks different. If you notice there are bottles of perfume that you cannot unscrew and pour into a bottle. Something like the one below:  With the Refillable Atomizer, you can pump your perfume from the original bottle's atomizer to the small one through the small "hole" at the bottom of the bottle. ...
