Mystery Manila: Virtual Voyage

Image
When my family and I went to Century City Mall in Kalayaan Avenue, Makati, we made sure to try the famous Mystery Manila.  Mystery Manila is a real life escape room game that can be played between 2-6 players. The team has one hour to find out how to escape the room by solving puzzles in 1 hour. The game requires patience, teamwork, and problem solving skills. There are different room themes that you can choose from: Sinister Sensorium, Pym Particle, Debby's Doll, Crime of the Century, Virtual Voyage, and Mutant's Mission. Rooms vary per branch.  Booking can be done online to ensure that you get the room you prefer, or you can do walk-in (which does not guarantee room availability). We chose to walk-in, and the earliest room available was Virtual Voyage. We started at around 4pm, we had our bags stored and had a short orientation from our gamekeeper, and off we began! When we entered the room we had no idea what to do. It was so hard to find out how to solve the p...

Kris Finds: Refillable Atomizer

Image
Ever find it hard to bring your favourite bottle of perfume when travelling overseas? All airlines have a protocol of carrying only 10mL of liquids per bottle for carry on luggage. Unless you have a check-in luggage, then you can bring in your bottle of perfume above 10mL. I have 2 favorite perfumes and none of them are quite easy to bring as a carry on. My go to everyday perfume which is the Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton, and my special occasion perfume which is the Victoria's Secret Tease. Thanks to a friend, I discovered this little device that's called the Refillable Atomizer. It may sound like your regular refillable atomizer but it definitely looks different. If you notice there are bottles of perfume that you cannot unscrew and pour into a bottle. Something like the one below:  With the Refillable Atomizer, you can pump your perfume from the original bottle's atomizer to the small one through the small "hole" at the bottom of the bottle. ...

Kris Travels: El Nido, Palawan

Image
My cousins and I have always wanted to take a trip together, so when the opportunity came, we immediately booked that ticket and tour to Palawan! We flew out to Palawan on September 2015 for 4 days and 3 nights. We went to the popular tourist destinations in Puerto Princesa, including some museums and landmarks that tell the story of the history of Palawan. On Day 2-3 we took a land trip to El Nido (this is roughly 5-6 hours), and enjoyed the crystal clear waters of lagoons and beaches. The corals were stunning, and the view was breathtaking. Below is a short clip of our trip. Enjoy!

Coco

Rating (out of 5):  ðŸŽ¸ðŸŽ¸ðŸŽ¸ðŸŽ¸ðŸŽ¸ At first I was hesitant to watch this movie, but when I saw a lot of posts about it, mi amor and I decided to watch Coco.  Coco is about Miguel, a young boy who dreamed of becoming an accomplished musician despite the ban on music in his family. He then finds himself in the Land of the Dead, meeting his family and a trickster named Hector, who together, embark on a journey to discover the real story behind Miguel's family history.  This movie teaches you to "Seize the Moment!" as one of the characters said. It also teaches you to reach for your dreams and believe that you can attain anything. It also shows the value of family, and forgiveness. That sometimes it's better to forgive, rather than carry a heavy heart to the grave.  I do not want to give any spoilers but what I can say is at the end of the movie, there was not a single dry eye in the movie house. Even mi amor was tearing up! Disney-Pixar sure has made ano...

Festival of Lights 2017

Image
Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I mean, who doesn't love Christmas?! And one of the ways I celebrate Christmas is by making a yearly visit to the Ayala Triangle Gardens Festival of Lights.  Since I started working in Makati in 2011, I've always made time to watch the lights dancing to the English and Tagalog Christmas songs. I have to tell you, this brings so much *feels*, and really makes me feel the Christmas spirit, especially when the lights surround you. Sad to say I don't have photos since 2011 but for this year's show, I made sure to take videos and pictures to document the beauty and wonder of the dancing lights. Here are some of the photos from the show I attended last November 21, 2017 where I watched 3 shows with mi amor. Pardon the low quality, I was using my camera phone to shoot. Highlights of the show can be watched in this video .

Beaches take on Macau and HongKong!

Image
Last April 2016, I went on a trip with three of my favorite people, who I call beaches. (It's a discreet way of saying b*itches). It was Mariz' first time out of the country and we made sure to make the most out of that trip. Day 1: Macau - visited casinos, The Ruins of St Paul, and Venetian Macau Day 2: HongKong - took a ferry to Hong Kong, went to Hong Kong Disneyland. Day 3: HongKong - SHOPPING! Day 4: Macau - flight back to Manila. Check out the highlights in my YouTube channel by clicking here

Spicy Noodles Challenge

Image
I have seen this challenge everywhere and I have been so curious as to what this tastes like so I purchased the Samyang Spicy Noodles in Original and - because I feel brave - the Samyang Spicy Noodles 2x. I purchased it at Lazada for Php 150 each. (I just discovered recently that there is a Korean grocery store near Versailles that sells these for Php 55 only!) I invited my cousins and my mom to try the challenge with me because, the more the merrier! Cooking it is like cooking your regular pansit canton.  I recommend you have a cold glass of milk or a gallon of ice cream within reach because I swear this burned my mouth for quite some time! To see what happened with the challenge, watch the full video  here .

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! It's been years since I last updated this blog, and I thought, since it's so updated, why not revamp this blog? And so I did. This blog will be dedicated to all my travels, random musings, health and beauty, and basically anything under the sun! It's kinda like my old blog but this is more "organized". I can't wait to share with you my posts, and I also have my YouTube channel! I hope you can check it out! I will do my best to keep this blog updated, and stay tuned for my first ever "official" blog post about one of my recent "challenges". Laters!
